Recently, I read an article by a "technology" blogger downplaying the danger of spyware. His comments made it sound that security companies made an unnecessary amount of noise about the dangers. I am not a person who cries wolf, (I have been working in the security sector for some 10 years), but I also do not wish to devalue or lessen the dangers. From obscene popups to outright identity theft, we have to maintain vigilance; we are fighting a war.
