I have two computers on which I used Counterspy (CS) and Zone Alarm Security Suite (ZA). One uses Windows 2000 Pro and the other is Win XP. I could no longer use Zone Alarm on the computer with Win 2000 because ZA no longer supports Win 2000. I searched around and found that Sunbelt SW's firewall runs on Win 2000 so I converted to Sunbelt's firewall and upgraded CS to VIPRE. The result is outstanding! The computer is much faster and I no longer have pesky startup and shut down problems and periodic crashes of the ZA engine. These problems have plagued me for years with ZA. Based on the experience on the Win 2000 machine I decided to turn off the ZA antivirus and upgrade from CS to Viper on the Win XP computer. Again, the result was outstanding. The computer is faster and start and shutdowns are quicker. By the way, this is a high performance computer with a fast Core 2 Duo processor. Well I decided to do the same with a friend's computer. It is an older Celeron processor with Win XP and had CS and ZA. It was very slow and had become much more so with recent ZA updates. So I upgraded it to VIPRE and Sunbelt's firewall. Again, the result was fantastic: faster, with quicker startup and shutdown. There is a definite pattern here: VIPRE and the Sunbelt firewall are much better than ZA Security Suite on several platforms. There were no installation problems on any of the computers and auto updates and scans perform without problems. Thanks for the great products. -- H. M.
